Agua Rain Barrel - Slate Grey

This rain barrel is visually a nice design, looks great beside the house, but the functional design could be improved upon. The water outlet, a small protruding pipe, is at the very bottom and the clamp that came with the unit to hold the hose over this came off immediately becasue it did not tighten enough. I then went to 2 hardware stores and could not get a clamp small enough to fit. We eventually used an improvised wire clamp but this also sometimes comes off. This rain barrel has no way to attach to the downspout directly which I have since learned is a bit of a drawback as this allows the rain barrel to fill and then once full the water flows through the downspout. I would also go with a larger size as this got full in one rainstorm and when you have a flexible hose going into the barrel it just means the water will gush out the flexibe hose and onto the ground. Overall a nice looking barrel but could use some design enhancements like a fully integrated hose fitting positioned a little higher on the barrel.

Algreen 84222 Madison Rain Barrel, Grey Granite, 49 Gallon

I bought two of these. They are really solid and look convincingly like real stone. You can't tell by looking at the picture but there are two pipes coming off the top where you can place overflow pipes. The hose attaches to a plastic outlet and has an optional on/off nozzle that you can put on as well. That's great for anyone using them for drip irrigation. The only thing I would change is having a metal outlet. Replacing the plastic one could be a problem because the top opening isn't easy to get into. Maybe ask a super skinny person to help you out, hehe. Also, it looks like the whole top comes off but it doesn't, it's just a design feature, just the round opening with the screen can be opened.

We like are Cascata Rain Water Storage System. Love the color too.Few thingsAlgreen needs to think about when making improvements... The plant hold - need draining holes to drain water in barrel. Hose gets pinched on bottom need to indent the bottom in more.

Achla Designs RB-01 Green Rain Barrel - 54 gallon

The design elements are great. But ... the overflow hose comes with a zip-tie to attach it to the barrel. Not sufficient. Replace that with a good hose clamp. Also, the overflow hose itself is a flat piece of flex tube: doesn't open up when it needs to, due to the inner plastic adhering to itself. I will be replacing that, too.The watering hose is not held on very well--make sure you tighten the hose clamp well! It came out while my wife was using it and we had a gushing leak.Other design elements are great: screen, varmint grate, overall conception. We like it and use it with a rain chain.

I already own a smaller version and love it! So we just purchased the 100 gallon rain barrel. It's very well made and looks great. Looks old world and isnt flimsy, has nice features. You can put several plants on the top of this one or use it as a bird bath. I looked at several others and this one had the look and quality I wanted. Can't wait to start using it. Highly recommend their products!

I am pleased with it. It was easy to assemble and looks pretty good in the yard. After a rain a few weeks ago, I tried it out. Works good.I only wish we`d get some more rain, now.I went ahead and put it up on cinder blocks to make it easier to use the spigot.

Algreen 81002 Agua 50-Gallon Rain Water Collection and Storage System

Excellent idea and a great product. I would recommend this but you should know a few things first. The Sam's Club where I live has had these for $89. You'll want to figure out a way to handle to runoff from the overflow hole. It doesn't take much of a downpour to fill it up and you don't want the overflow spilling right next to your foundation. That's why you had an elbow at the bottom of your downspout after all. I used a small pvc elbow which I glued in the overflow hole, then glued a piece of 4' water hose to that, which I use to redirect the water away from the house. Also, when you set this up, try to raise it off the ground as much as you can since the only water pressure you will have is being generated by gravity. I used wall blocks and built a sturdy base 3 blocks high. Since water won't run up hill you will only be able to water those items that are lower than the rainbarrel. All in all, I think it's a great idea, a great product, and certainly worth the price paid at Sam's.

Algreen 81001 Cascata 65-Gallon Rain Water Collection and Storage System

I purchased one of these (not from Amazon) a few months ago and I am reasonably happy with it so far. However, there are some issues. After 3-4 months of use I can testify that the Cascata is a great way to deliver water to a small garden patch in my backyard without breaking a sweat - when it gets hot and dry, I simply attach a hose that branches into a network of drip soaker tubes and I don't need to worry about it much. The top, which is supposed to be a planter, I keep it as a small bird bath.I can't say anything about customer support because I did not need any help yet. This is what I like about this product:- Large capacity. 65 gallons is a lot of water but this is okay because one big downpour may be enough to fill it up where I live.- Good looks.- Setup seems to be easy but, I must admit, I chose to hire a professional to set up the base, connect the down spout and make sure that the connection to the soaker tubes fit.Issues:- The accessories do not seem to match the quality and design of the barrel itself.- The overflow hose is not sufficient to keep up with the inflow during a heavy rain so, if you have a finished basement, be very careful.- The 20 year warranty covers the barrel only and none of the accessories so, unless the barrel cracks or explodes on its own and you capture that on a video and you can provide 'proof of purchase', don't expect much from the warranty.Rating:I hesitate between 3 and 4 stars. The serious overflow issues and the warranty tell me that…

The Kyoto looks really nice, much better than most rain barrels. I had my first one out of the box for less than a minute before my neighbor commented on how good it looks. Unfortunately, it had a big, deep scratch in it. Amazon was great about getting a replacement out immediately, and the replacement was in excellent condition. The next one I bought was also in good condition. It's got a small dent in the front that's hardly noticeable and I suspect once the barrel is full and warm from the summer sun the dent will pop out. I ordered 2 more and not only did they both arrive badly scratched, I'm pretty certain one of them was the one I originally returned as damaged! It had the exact same gouge in the exact same place. Even if it's not the same one I had returned, it was obvious that it had been opened previously. It had been clumsily repackaged with the plastic bag taped closed rather than the nice, neat metal twist tie the manufacturer uses on new ones. The replacements for both of those damaged ones were also scratched, but I decided the damage was minimal enough to live with.I'm using these barrels with rain chains rather than downspouts. There is a fair bit of splash off of the top that would be minimized if the lid were recessed an inch or so. It's not a lot of splash but it's enough to get the house wet with the barrels sitting a foot away from the wall. Also, the lids aren't held on with anything and are very light. They would blow off in a strong wind. I've wired mine…

Algreen Cascata 65 Gallon Rain Barrel Urn Color - Grey

Although I am pleased with the overall look of the warer barrel, I am disappointed with the quality of some of the parts. The 6-foot garden hose is is very stiff and appears cheaply made. It has a very thin wall and small inner diameter which would restrict water flow compared with a quality garden hose. In addition, the Product Description states that the water barrel came with a "brass spigot". The two water barrels that I received, came with a cheap plastic spigot. The "brass spigot" was one of the selling points that influenced my decision to purchase this product.

Algreen 81212 Agua Rain Water Collection and Storage System, 50 Gallons, Sandalwood

Granted, this is a nice-looking rain barrel, but I have three issues:1.There should be a better quality hose. I have another rain barrel, cheaper in price but at least as good in quality, if not even better, that came with a very nice brass spigot.2. Unless I read the description wrong, there should be a planter provided with it that fits into the opening on top. (This was the main reason why I picked this particular model of rain barrel.) There wasn't one, however.3. I'll have to drill drainage holes myself into the opening where I want to plant flowers, as in the picture. I don't understand why there aren't any already since it's clearly meant for planting something. All in all, if I had known of or considered these factors, I would not have bought this particular model. (Can't return it since I don't have the box (or bag?) it came in.
